Keshi pearl necklace + earrings

IMG_1657 IMG_1698Most pearls are formed when nacre is deposited around a small irritant.  Keshi pearls, however, lack the central nucleus and tend to be flat rather than rounded.  Being pure nacre, they tend to be highly lustrous.  (You can see my other pearl necklaces here, here, here, here, here, and here.)

These pearls are about 5 to 6mm in diameter.  I strung them with small gold-filled saucers, and finished with a gold-filled lobster clasp.  The necklace is 17 inches long, and weighs 0.5 oz.

I made hoop earrings to match.  The hoops are gold-filled, about an inch in diameter.  The earrings weigh 0.1 oz.

Drusy & black agate gold chain necklace + earrings

IMG_1365 IMG_1260 I found these drusy beads at a local bead store.  The crystals on the surface are very fine and sparkly!  The largest bead measures about 20x25mm.

I used gold-filled wire to link the drusy beads with small black agate nugget beads, and I then joined the bead-link unit to my favorite gold-filled figure 8 chain, finishing with a gold-filled trigger clasp.  The necklace is 16.5 inches long, and weighs 0.6 oz.

IMG_1336IMG_1250 I made earrings to match.  The wire joining the beads and the French hooks are also gold-filled.  The longest dangle is 1.5 inches, and the earrings weigh 0.2 oz.

Square drusy & silver bead-link necklace + earrings

IMG_1233 IMG_1295Druse is a coating of small crystals on the surface of a rock or mineral.  Drusy beads are beginning to be more available and this is my first experiment with them.  The sparkling crystal coating is on one side only, with the other side smooth.  The flat squares are 20x20mm, and the 25mm twisted links between are sterling silver from Bali.  I joined the links with sterling silver wire.

IMG_1283 I finished with a Bali silver hook & eye clasp.  The necklace is 17.25 inches long, and weighs 2.2 oz.

IMG_1305 IMG_1238I made earrings to match, with Bali silver hooks and headpins.  The dangles are about 1 1/8 inches long, and the earrings weigh 0.4 oz.

White fire opal pendant

IMG_0434 Fire opals are usually the color of fire (hence their name): red, orange, yellow.  This one is white, but it does have a yellow tint.

The opal is a faceted pear, measuring about 20x14mm with a weight of 9.67 carats.  I set it in sterling silver.

The finished pendant is about an inch long and weighs 0.1 oz.  I am not including a chain, but if you need one let me know & I can add one for about $14.

Pearl nugget and gold-filled chain necklace + earrings

Img_9181 Img_9148Here's the gold-filled counterpart to my previous necklace.  I used gold-filled figure eight chain, and finished with a gold-filled lobster clasp.  The necklace is 17 inches long, with a weight of 0.2 oz.

Img_9175 Img_9142The matching earrings are made with gold-filled posts.  The longest dangle is about 1.25 inches, and the earrings weigh 0.2 oz.

Pearl nugget and silver chain necklace + earrings

Img_9187 Img_9137These pearls are far from perfect, but they have a beautiful luster.  They are irregularly shaped freshwater pearls measuring about 7-8mm in diameter.  (You can see my other pearl necklaces here, here, and here.)

I used my favorite figure eight chain in sterling silver to join the pearl links, and I finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp.  The length of the necklace is 17 inches, with a weight of 0.2 oz.

Img_9185 Img_9130I made matching earrings by hanging pearl & chain dangles from sterling silver post earrings.  The longest dangle is 1.25 inches, and the earrings weigh 0.2 oz.

White howlite 4mm necklace with detachable pendant + earrings

Img_8433_3 Img_8436_2 Img_8656_2 Img_8669_2Howlite is one of my favorite stones (one of many, I know), so when I saw this fabulous pendant, I knew I had to purchase it & create a necklace for it.  (I have another howlite necklace listed here.)

The pendant is set in sterling silver, and weighs 0.5 oz.  It measures about 1.75 inches from the top of the bail to the bottom edge.  It even looks fabulous from the back!
Img_8660
I made the matching necklace with 4mm round howlite beads and 3.5mm Bali silver saucer beads, finishing with a sterling silver lobster clasp.  The necklace is 17 inches long and weighs 0.4 oz.
Img_8644 Img_8426I made hoop earrings to match.  The hoops are sterling silver (as are the little silver beads on the end), about 1 inch in diameter.  They weigh about 0.1 oz.

White howlite flat oval bead-link necklace + earrings

Img_7019 Img_7228Howlite is another one of my favorite stones.  It is often dyed and used as a substitute for turquoise or lapis lazuli, but I like it best in its undyed state.  The white stone with the soft gray veins reminds me of marble.

The stones in this necklace are flat ovals, measuring 18x13mm.  I linked them with sterling silver wire, and then finished with a Bali silver s-clasp.

Img_7219 The necklace is just over 21 inches long (you can shorten it by clasping the hook between two beads as shown), with a weight of 1.7 oz.

Img_7023 Img_7216_2I made simple earrings to match, using these fabulous sterling silver French hooks with little domes attached.  The earrings weigh about 0.2 oz.

Mother of pearl cabochon earrings

Img_6005_2 Img_5999_2 Img_62561_2Here's some lovely mother of pearl for you!  The cabochons measure 8x6mm, and are about one millimeter thick.  I set them in sterling silver.

Price: $11.50 (shipping is free)

White howlite oval cabochon dangle earrings

Img_5824 Img_5830 Img_6389Here's another set of howlite earrings.  This time I made the 9x7mm cabochons into little dangles and hung them from sterling silver stud earrings.  The settings are also silver.  The total weight of the earrings is less than 0.1 oz.

Price: $18.90 (shipping is free)
