White moonstone, lapis lazuli, & silver necklace + earrings

Img_9752 Img_0039The blue beads are lapis lazuli cubes, drilled corner to corner, and the white beads are white moonstone.  I strung them with sterling silver wave beads.  The lapis is 8mm lengthwise, the moonstone is 6mm in diameter, and the wave beads are 18mm long.  I finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp.  The necklace is just over 18 inches long, with a weight of 0.4 oz.

I made earrings to match with sterling silver French hooks.  I put silver saucer beads between the moonstone & lapis, & 2mm round silver beads on the ends.  The dangles are just under an inch long, and the earrings weigh 0.1 oz.

White 6mm moonstone necklace + earrings

Img_9726 Img_0075I love moonstone.  Given a choice, I usually go for the flashier rainbow moonstone, but the white glow of these beads is so lovely that I don't miss the rainbow's blue flashes.  (You can see my other moonstone necklaces here, here, and here.)

The three large silver beads are from Thailand.  They are made from 99% pure silver & measure about 22x13mm.  I used little 3mm Thai silver beads as spacers, and finished with a sterling silver lobster clasp.  The necklace is a bit over 18 inches long, with a weight of 0.9 oz.

Img_9718 I made earrings to match with sterling silver French hooks.  The dangles are about 0.75 inches long, and the earrings weigh 0.1 oz.

Sterling silver celtic knot chain maille bracelet

Img_9520 Img_9533Img_9514Here's a chain maille bracelet in sterling silver for a change!  The weave is called celtic knot.  I finished the bracelet with a silver heart & arrow toggle clasp:

The bracelet is about 11mm wide, 4mm thick, and just over 7.5 inches long.  It weighs 0.5 oz.

Copper Jens Pind chain maille bracelet

Img_9552 Img_9542This is my first attempt at the Jens Pind weave (also known as Jens Pind's linkage), and it fascinates me.  The bracelet is flexible in one direction, but stiff in the other.  The weave is a bit tricky to do, but very fun!

I used copper rings and finished with a copper toggle clasp.  The bracelet is about 6mm thick, with a length of 8 inches and a weight of 0.7 oz.

Price: $27.50 (shipping is free)

Copper byzantine gridlock chain maille bracelet

Img_9565 Img_9558This weave is called the byzantine gridlock.  The rings and the toggle clasp are copper.  The bracelet is 14mm wide & 6mm thick, with a length of 8 5/8 inches.  It weighs 1.5 oz.

Price: $33 (shipping is free)

Ametrine faceted necklace + earrings

Img_9966 Img_9858Here's more ametrine.  The colors range from a little lighter to a little darker than those of the ametrine necklace I just posted.  These beads aren't perfect--some of the beads do have inclusions present--but the overall quality is fairly good.

The shape of the beads is not quite an oval, but too rounded to be a rectangle.  They are faceted, and are about 8 to 9mm long.  I set them off with little vermeil spacers from Bali, and finished with a vermeil hook & eye clasp.  The necklace is 17.25 inches long, and weighs 0.6 oz.

I made ear threads to match.  (I had a little bit of trouble in the 2nd picture: the friction that keeps ear threads in place in your ears isn't sufficient to keep them in my display stand without a little maneuvering.)  The ear threads are gold-filled and weigh less than 0.1 oz.  Their length from the end of the threader to the bottom of the bead dangle is about 3.75 inches (so less than 2 inches long when worn).

Ametrine smooth oval necklace + earrings

Img_9813 Img_9990Ametrine is getting harder to find these days.  I fell in love with it when I purchased a sparkly string of cushion cut ametrine from a local bead store, but unfortunately I can't find the same quality anywhere without spending major amounts.  (The cushion cut string is long gone: I posted the necklace set last year, and it has been sold.)

These particular beads, while not top of the line quality, are nevertheless very nice.  They are transparent, with a few inclusions, and have nice clear colors in the purples and yellows.  They are smooth ovals, 2 to 3mm thick, and ranging in length from 6.5 to 10mm.  I alternated the ovals with 2mm gold-filled beads, finishing with a vermeil s-clasp.  The necklace is 16 inches long, with a weight of 0.4 oz.Img_9978

I used  gold-filled French hooks and vermeil connectors to make the matching earrings.  The headpins and 2mm beads on the ends are also gold filled.  The complete dangles are about 1.5 inches long, and the earrings weigh 0.1 oz.

Citrine rough nugget bead-link necklace + earrings

Img_0014 Img_9778 These citrine nuggets are in a rough cut, not tumbled smooth, so they look like honey-flavored rock candy, good enough to eat!  The color is not uniform, but they are wonderfully translucent, like bits of late afternoon sunshine.

I joined the nuggets with gold-filled wire, finishing with a vermeil hook & eye clasp, putting the largest nuggets in the middle (they range in length from 12 to 27 mm.)
Img_0010 Img_0008
The necklace is 24 inches long (can be worn shorter by hooking the clasp as shown), with a weight of 2.5 oz.

Img_0005 Img_9770I made matching earrings with gold-filled headpins and 2mm round gold-filled beads.  The French hooks are also gold-filled.

The dangles are about an inch long, and the earrings weigh 0.1 oz.

Price: $48 (shipping is free)
