Going to Little Rock

I'm leaving for Little Rock tomorrow, & I'll be gone for a couple of weeks.  (My mom's had knee surgery & I'm going to hang out with her while she recovers.)  Tom's staying home & I've shown him how to handle orders, so he should be able to ship out anything except for pendant chains (since the chains are cut to order).

See you later!

Natural catseye 8mm rondelle necklace + earrings

Img_7340 Img_75411These beads are natural catseye and are a variety of quartz.  The cat's  eye effect is called chatoyancy (from the French words for "cat's eye") and is due to the material's internal fibrous structure.  You can see my other natural catseye necklace here.

(Man-made catseye is much more common, by the way.  It's formed out of fiberoptic glass.)

The catseye rondelles are smooth and measure 8x5mm.  I used more of my 99% pure silver beads from Thailand; the silver origami boxes are about 8 to 9mm long.  I finished with a Bali (sterling) silver hook & eye clasp.

The necklace is about 17.5 inches long, and weighs 1.4 oz.

Img_7538 Img_7337The French hooks and headpins I used for the matching earrings are sterling silver.  The dangles are about 1.25 inches long, and the earrings weigh 0.2 oz.

Price: $59.50 (shipping is free)

Lepidolite oval bead-link necklace + earrings

Img_7113 Img_7070Lepidolite is a new stone for me.  It's a type of mica, and it's rather soft: 2.5 on the Mohs scale, which is the same hardness as fingernails.  I love the color of these, a soft grayish violet.

The beads are flat ovals, measuring 14x10mm.  I linked each with sterling silver wire, finishing with a Bali silver hook & eye clasp.  The necklace is about 20.25 inches long (you can hook the clasp between two beads to wear it shorter), with a weight of 1.0 oz.

The headpins and French hooks I used for the matching earrings are all sterling silver.  The longest dangle is about 1.5 inches, and the earrings weigh 0.2 oz.

Fossilized wood jasper 8mm necklace + earrings

Img_7326 Img_7523These beads are jasper, and very very cool.  They're a lovely chocolate brown with darker brown grain-like streaks, looking just like a very dark wood that's been turned to stone.  (Hence the name).  They are round, 8mm in diameter.  I strung them with 6mm Bali vermeil spacers, finishing with a vermeil s-clasp from India.  The finished length is 17 inches, with a weight of 1.3 oz.

Img_7517 Img_7319The French hooks and headpins in the matching earrings are gold-filled.  The dangles are about 1.25 inches long, and the earrings weigh 0.1 oz.

Price: $38.50 (shipping is free)

Moukite tube bead-link necklace

Img_7209 Img_7029Moukite is a multi-colored jasper.  This batch features reds, browns, and mauves, with some mustard yellow accents thrown in.  (I have another moukite necklace posted here.)

The tubes are round, measuring 4x13mm.  I linked each with gold-filled wire, finished with a vermeil hook clasp.

The loops between the beads aren't as big as the finishing loop, but you can hook the clasp through most of them if you want to shorten the necklace.  The finished length is 24.5 inches, with a weight of 0.5 oz.

Price: $24 (shipping is free)
