Here's some carnelian in its natural, unheated state. The beads are semi-faceted--there's 2 large and 2 small surface cuts on each side of the flat oval--and measure roughly 18x13mm. I linked each bead with gold-filled wire, finishing with a Bali vermeil s-clasp. (I have another carnelian necklace here.)
The necklace is 22.25 inches long (can be worn shorter by hooking the clasp as shown), with a weight of 2.0 oz.
