I think snowflake obsidian may be my favorite of the obsidian varieties. The gray blotches are cristobalite, formed in the high temperatures of the lava flow.
I set off each group of three with big silver lantern beads from Bali, and then alternated each bead with 2mm sterling silver beads, finishing with a Bali silver hook & eye clasp.
The necklace is 19 inches long, with a weight of 2.1 oz.
