I love malachite. It's such a rich green with such wonderful banded markings! Its main flaw is that it's a fairly soft stone, measuring 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale.
These malachite beads are 8x8mm flat squares, drilled corner to corner. I alternated them with Bali silver beads, and finished with a Bali silver hook & eye clasp. The necklace is pretty much choker length: barely 16.5 inches. The weight is 1.1 oz.
