Kyanite 8mm rondelle necklace

The highest gem-quality kyanite is a lovely dark blue, and is usually cut into cabochons or facted stones for mounting rather than drilled for beads.  The lesser grades have this wonderful silvery blue present, making the beads look as if they were lined with silver foil.

These particular beads are rondells, 8mm in diameter and roughly 3.5 to 5mm thick.  I strung them with Bali silver beaded ovals, and finished with a silver beaded hook & eye clasp.

The necklace is 21.5 inches long, with a weight of 2.3 oz.
