A lot of materials are called "jade", but true jade is either nephrite or jadeite. These beads are neither--they're actually quartz.
The color comes from dye, but it is permanent (I washed the beads to make sure no dye would come off). The silver mesh beads are formed from sterling silver wire, & have been treated to make them tarnish-resistant.
The length is 19.5 inches, and the weight is 1.4 oz.
