Only a few of the beads have that fine blue flash which the best rainbow moonstone exhibits, but I think they're lovely all the same. Wikipedia says that moonstone is a pearly or opalescent form of orthoclase . All I know is that I've been fascinated with moonstone since childhood, when I read a comic book adapation of Wilkie Collin's The Moonstone. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the BBC adaptation recently, & learned that Wilkis' Moonstone was actually a yellow diamond.
Anyway, here's the vital statistics on this necklace: the beads are about 10mm x 15mm, and they're linked with gold-filled wire. The clasp is a Bali vermeil S-type. The length is 22.5 inches (but it can be worn shorter), and the weight is 1.0 oz.
